International Contest of Young Drummers "BaTTerrist", second edition, 2025

Event with free entry for spectators and supporters

Contest judged by some of the most renowned musicians and teachers in the Republic of Moldova

The contest of young drummers/percussionists is divided based on a skill category and three age categories:

1. Absolute beginner drummers with no age limit

2. Intermediate and/or advanced drummers up to 12 years old

3. Intermediate and/or advanced drummers 13-18 years old

4. Intermediate and/or advanced drummers who are over 18 years old

Participants will present a maximum of two varied musical pieces, with play-back or accompaniment for interpretation, live.

Bands will present with their own instruments and equipment, at least two hours before the start of the contest for sound adjustments.

The duration of the soundcheck will not exceed 15 min.

The following performances are appreciated and scored:

1. Musical interpretation and evolution in the musical context, dynamics, vocabulary and interaction with the scores of the other instruments;

2. Instrument handling technique, ability to improvise, evolve with solos;

3. Artistry, technics and stage appearance, showmanship. The inclusion in the program of a piece with a different time signature from the traditional one - 4/4 will be appreciated more highly.

In turn, Musicshop, which supported us last year, is also offering similar prizes in the amount of 5,000 lei.
